Sheila Jayne Simmonds was born a while ago on Dowling Street, Woolloomooloo, a suburb of Sydney, just north of Potts Point, New South Wales, Australia, with according to Wikipedia, a population of 4011.

The only child to her parents Peter & Elaine Simmonds, growing up, Sheila was a popular girl, and excelled at everything from home-baking to ballet dancing.  Her rendition of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker at the 1976 Woolloomooloo Festival is still talked about to this day.

In 1979, Sheila became the face of Woolloomooloo when she represented New South Wales in The Miss.Australia competition.  After her successful win, she entered the then popular TV show "Young Talent Time" where she met the Minogue sisters, Dannii & Kylie.......plans were underway for the trio to record, under the name "SDK" but due to "scheduling difficulties" the project never got off the ground.  Sheila remained on the show for 3 episodes.

Following her stint on "Young Talent Time", Sheila was snapped up by TVSN after she was spotted doing a salad spinner demonstration at her local Woolworths store, and the rest as they say is history.

Sheila became Australia's number 1 Home Shopping Presenter with her hugely popular show "Sheila's Beauty Box"

With her trademark polyester suits, diamante flats and white handbag, Sheila has also become an international fashion icon modelling for catalogues such as Littlewoods, Grattan and Marshall Ward.
